Ben's WX Summary
- Updated: Thursday @ 05:00pm
Another cool day out there today, which was great for snowmaking at local resorts. Bear Mountain opened today, Snow Summit opens tomorrow, followed soon by Snow Valley. Expect warmer conditions through the weekend as high pressure takes control of our weather. This will effectively direct the storm track (jetstream) well to our north for the time being. We are looking at possible changes towards the middle of the month, but that's a long way out, and confidence remains low at this time. In the meantime, expect a few high clouds this evening with light winds as lows drop into the 20s. Expect mostly sunny skies on Friday with warmer temperatures as the offshore flow weakens, pushing highs into the upper 40s, northeast winds continuing around 5-10 mph. Fair and warmer this weekend with highs climbing back into the lower to 50s with overnight lows generally in the 20s, winds light & variable 5-10 mph at times. Above normal temperatures and dry weather will persist through next week, with further warming expected around the middle of the week as highs top out near 60 degrees.
